How to Use the WorshipHomePage.com
by Don Chapman

What's a homepage? It's the webpage that appears when you first start your Internet browser. I created this homepage for worship leaders a few years ago and have now redesigned it with new features - www.worshiphomepage.com. Here's how this website can help you:

1. Free worship backgrounds. The little flickr window on the left of the front page shows random pictures taken from the millions of images on flickr.com. click on one, download it and put it in PowerPoint, MediaShout, EasyWorship or any worship lyrics software. I've already download several that would work. I'll program it to show various search terms like "sky" "clouds" "snow" etc. Learn how to format your new pics for projection by clicking the "Learn how to make a worship background" link.

2. Email chord charts and MP3s for free. If you've tried to email chord charts and MP3s to your praise team, you've found that most email programs won't accept large files. Sometimes the email goes through, sometimes it doesn't. Use FileFlyer to send multiple charts and MP3s to everyone and they'll get the files. Upload all the files you want, then enter the recipient's email (or several email addresses, separated by a comma.) They'll get an email with links to the files. Click the "Email Charts/MP3s" link under the WORSHIP TOOLS section.

3. Holiday calendar. Good worship leaders always know which holidays are right around the corner (opps - is Mother's Day this Sunday??!) Keep on top of it by clicking the "Google Holiday Calendar" link.

4. Guitar chords. Two separate programs to help you find guitar chords (if they don't load immediately, try refreshing your browser.)

5. Find worship images. Did you know that Google, Yahoo and Altavista are secretly a super-humongous library of images for your worship projection software? Click the links, type in the name of the image you want, and you have the perfect pic for PowerPoint. Learn more about it here:

6. Bible Search. Want to have a Scripture reading during your praise set? Find verses appropriate to your theme by doing a Bible search - and select the translation you want. Try the Message version [MSG] for a fresh, modern translation.

7. The best links. While not an exhaustive list that will make you... exhausted - these worship links are my picks for the top worship resources on the Internet. Select the tabs at the top of the page for media, music and software.

8. Logins. Do you subscribe to my paid websites HymnCharts.com, WorshipFlow.com or WorshipMax.com? Here are quick login links for you.

9. Email. Links to the most popular email services.

10. Culture news. Keep current with Drudge, Fox, Yahoo, Google and other news outlets.

11. Firefox link. Try out the alternative browser, Firefox. It's leaner than Internet Explorer (that means it supposedly loads and surfs faster) and has a cool, handy feature called tabbed browsing. Open one browser, surf several website all within that one browser.
